That 90s lip

I am a fan of this simple new trend made popular by Kylie Jenner, it involves a dark nude lip shade and lip liner around the lips.

(photo taken from internet)

I have tried to recreate this look using Estée Lauder in shade 'Desirable' lipstick and Rimmel exaggerate lip liner in shade 'Eastend Snob'. By the way at  only £3.99 this retractable lip liner really is a must have - such great colour and staying power. The liner has an almost waxy texture and worn alone all over the lips can give a real matte look, I like to use a lipstick on top to give a more glossy look.
I also love this Lauder lipstick - very nourishing and feels lovely to apply. Have reviewed it in more detail in my post 'Estee Lauder Haul'.

(another photo taken on my phone to show without flash the true colour - more mauve/dark nude)

I love this nude/pink/brown lip, and although in the photos (with a flash) it looks quite pink, In real life it is defiantly more mauve.
There is still speculation over weather Kylie has had lip fillers to enhance the shape and size of her lips however this lip combo certainly enhanced the look of  my lips and made my lips look fuller, I only overdrew my lips slightly with the lip liner.
It can  be worn with a simple smokey eye or winged eyeliner, matte skin with some contouring and this make up look is quickly becoming a favourite of mine.

Does anyone else wear this look and what products do you use to recreate it?

Love Me Beauty box

So some of you may have heard me talk about the 'love me beauty' box before - it is a monthly beauty box you can subscribe to.
Recently the brand has gone through a re-branding and I love the new concept, in which you pick products tailor made to suit you! Rather than being sent a selection of products that might not suit you or your skin.

The new products arrive in a nice little fabric bag, and I am told from October they will be nicely presented in a pretty white box - packaging for me is so important!

The products I selected were all from the Love Me Beauty website, and basically to explain briefly, you pay £10.00 and you are given '5 tokens' a month and each product has a value of 1 or 2 tokens, depending on price/product size.  You are free then to browse the site and select the products that appeal to you!
Percy and Reed Shine and Fragrance spray - This item caught my eye as the packaging looked so cute and girly, the product claims to give hair a gorgeous rose scent whilst also giving a dazzling shine - and it does smell amazing - very floral and delicate, the spray also does give a visible shine to hair just be careful not to spray to close to roots as it can look greasy.
However a great finishing spray to add shine and a lovely smell!

ModelCo lipgloss in Fairy Floss - This handy lip gloss also has a mirror built on the side which is an added bonus (perfect for a girl on the go) the shade itself is a very pale pink colour, it would be ideal for day wear but for me personally it isn't bold enough - I have been on the Model Co website and seen they have 7 more shades so I will be interested to try more!

Absolute Bronzing Boost - I'll be honest I had to Google this sample as I wasn't sure exactly how to use it, but it says online
'Enjoy a guilt-free glow with an oil-free bronzer which protects your skin and blends easily for buildable coverage.
Wear alone for a bronze glow or for more complete coverage mix in with foundation.'
This sounds like a great product as I often fake tan but my body/neck/chest but don't like to apply tan oln my face as I think the product can block my pores, so for the days when I want to hide my pale face this would be fab at adding some colour. I am excited to try this out.

Murad T zone refining serum - This is a small size sample of a serum, which can be applied on a clean face. I recently applied a small amount of product to test, and the serum is clear and applies smoothly and silkily. It feels light on my skin and I shall use it for the next few weeks to see if I will notice an improvement in my skin texture and tone.

Over all I love this Love Me Beauty box and there re- branding, meaning now you can browse their website and pick individual products that appeal to you. The good thing is also you are exposed to brands you might never have heard of!
I urge everyone to take a look at Love Me Beauty and see if you can discover some new innovative products which you might love!
Also who doesn't love receiving a present from the postman each month?

MAC Morange

Well its been a while since I last posted, but that is due to a nice little holiday I went on, me and the family went to Cornwall for a week and it was lovely! Anyway..sorry for the lack of new posts - but I'm back now!

Right, I have to share my love for my new purchase, a gorgeous lipstick by MAC in 'Morange' It is so vibrant, bold and ORANGE! I love it.
The formula is so creamy and applies beautifully - like all MAC products the quality is great, it is one from their 'amplified' range which just mixes colour and texture really well bright yet not to dry! I can't wait to purchase more MAC lipsticks, as I am sad to say this is only my 2nd lipstick I own by MAC. I can easily spend hours on the MAC website flicking through the shade collection, I hope to add 'Ruby Woo' and 'Impassioned' to my collection next.

The shade 'Morange' is really stunning, I first wore it one night out for dinner in Cornwall and the shade really brightened my face and looks lovely with a tan, I'd say it compliments warmer skin tones. As it is such a statement lip colour I would only wear this with a simple eye makeup, perhaps a subtle gold/bronze eye shadow or simple cat flick - let the lipstick do the talking!!
All in all if your looking for a bright orange shade - get this lipstick you won't regret it!

(photo of me wearing the lip shade is not the clearest - only taken on my phone)

Pointy nails - love or loath them?

I have to do a short post on my love for pointy/stiletto nails.  For a while now I had been thinking of changing my square tip acrylic nails for 'pointy' nails - Much loved by Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Lana Del Ray and many more celebs,  after looking on Instagram and Pinterest at endless colours and designs I decided to take the plunge and get myself some claws!!!

My new nails <3 In OPI 'Sweet Heart' - this shade is the perfect pinky/nude.

And I love them ♥ I prefer the shape much more to squares and I personally think they look more elegant, they also suit my hand shape (I have long thin fingers and the nail suits the shape of my hands - or so the nail technician said)
I don't find any difficulties in wearing them, typing on a keyboard was slightly hard to get used to but I don't struggle, and I find using a touch screen phone is fine.
I know they are in fashion at the moment and perhaps soon they wont be on trend, but I am loving them and will continue to keep the pointy nails while I have acrylics on!
What's your opinion on pointy nails? Do you Love or Loath them?

Here are some of my favourite colours and designs I have seen on Pinterest, maybe they'll inspire you...
(All photos below have been taken from Pinterest and are NOT my own images -  I have simply used them as inspiration)

Below are Nude coloured nails which are probably my favourites - So wearable and easy for day to day wear! Love them all

Below are some slightly bolder colours, but I love them also - the red is gorgeous, the black  I know isn't everyones cup of tea but I love it (Especially for Autumn) and the white looks really simple and classy.

Love,

Emily x
